Looks like Baylor never learned its lesson from last year's CFP snub

Recommended Posts

Adding Louisiana Tech is a small step in the right direction for Baylor. The Bears have been widely criticized for their non-conference strength of schedule.

Louisiana Tech is a solid mid-major program. Last season, the Bulldogs finished 9-5 after falling in the C-USA Championship Game by three at Marshall and then defeating Illinois 35-18 in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.

In 2015, Baylor hosts Northwestern State and SMU and travels to Rice. Other future non-conference opponents for Baylor include Liberty, UTSA, Duke, Incarnate Word, and Rice.

I thought he was recently dismissed for receiving impermissible benefits.

Haven't heard the story but if true I'm sure it's an example of the NCAA punishing someone for getting a meal or a place to sleep.

That's exactly what it is. Dude moved in with a family friend so as not to be, you know, homeless, and the NCAA called that an "impermissible benefit."

You know OOC schedules are decided more than a year in advance, right?

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

actually in this case the NCAA had nothing to do with it, it is Baylor's Compliance Dept that is the culprit.

Still not ideal that it would even need to come to that. Sounds like the kid was almost on track to improving his life (you know what college athletics should really be about) and instead he is a scandal or something like that. I am sure there are examples of these situations actually being negative and this could even be one of them but it seems like it is just a case of ridiculousness.

Something tells me that Baylor really needs to make sure that the NCAA doesn't start snooping around down in Waco.

I am sure this is true haha.

If so, this is why the NCAA is so disliked.....no other scholarship program would do that to a student.
