Never done the smaller town thing.  I would have done undergrad there but took a golf scholarship elsewhere.  Girlfriend at the time was not down with a small college town.

You solo?

Asks the guy who posted this .. Lol

That was great for lulz, but it took me a straight-up eternity to finally get to my Fresno TD homo-erotica...

How’d you do that, BTW?

Regarding AAC bowls, we'll see how it looks when these agreements expire. (I'm not saying this to disparage the AAC, but we all know the P5 wants to box out the "have-nots" whenever possible.) Would it surprise anyone if the Birmingham kept their SEC tie-in and grabbed the ACC's from the Military Bowl?

The AAC will always have some nice secondary agreements though, based on their geography and superiority over CUSA and Sun Belt.

we didn't have agreements with the Peach or Liberty Bowls...sometimes it's just all in how your teams do and what other conferences can't fill their bowls.

I mean, if 6-6 Ole Miss was bowl eligible I bet they would have snagged the Liberty Bowl...but we'll sure take it!

Seems to me there are always a lot of empty seats at second-tier bowls. Makes me wonder how much fanbase travel support even matters when compared to TV revenue.

They basically have guaranteed ticket sales on the backs of taxpayers, even if nobody goes.  That's why bowls are a racket to start with.

Memphis vs Iowa State in the Liberty Bowl

USF vs Texas Tech in the Birmingham Bowl

Navy vs Virginia in the Military Bowl

Aresco should get a little credit for that impressive line-up.

....and our bowl opponent is 7th place PAC-12 school. Uhg.

BSU has done this several times in the past.

And if one of those conferences doesn't send a team....

I'm talking primary deals...I think we have secondary deals with Liberty and Independence but you have to produce a team they actually want.

again, If Mississippi wasn't on a bowl ban I'm pretty sure they would have snagged the Liberty Bowl

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!

I'm hearing 5 years 2.7 million per year (now the highest paid G5 coach)

Almost looks like they're finalizing the deal in a strip club... er, I mean gentleman's club.

Seriously... good job locking him down.  That is some serious cash to lay out for a HC of a G5 school.  I wonder if Norvell was getting interest from TN and/or Ark and used that to negotiate the significant bump.

Yeah, I know we're just debating semantics here. But AAC does have a deal with Liberty as an alternate. (And they have a deal with the Peach as part of the G5's deal with the CFP.)

I think that's the key for G5's moving forward, lock up a diverse group of secondary deals and hope the odds are in your favor. I'm guessing when tie-ins expire in 2019/2020/whenever matchups like Vegas (MW v PAC12), Birmingham (AAC v SEC), Military (AAC v ACC) are going away because college football is the devil.

I believe Norvell is in New York since he's up for some coach of the year type award and this is in the hotel lobby. (which is also why they're dressed up)

Norvell and Jimmy Sexton (his agent) met with Arkansas in Memphis after Gus turned them down...Norvell decided to sign the extension with Memphis and Arkansas is hiring Chad Morris from SMU

That’s pretty much what they have to pay someone to risk staying in that dump. Somalian refugees have returned to Mogadishu because they got tired of all the murder and violent crime in Memphis.
