Do you think Idaho and New Mexico State should join the Mountain West?

Recommended Posts

it's hilarious that anyone in the mountain west thinks they're somehow categorically better than Idaho or NMSU. LOL.

Also, it would be nice for Idaho to class up the joint. Is UNM the only school in this retard conference that offers real PhDs?

Edit: Unfair!! UNR and Wyo are real schools too. (and CSU, sort of)

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Actually what's hilarious is you making a comment that broad with no factual support whatsoever. Other than offering independent PhDs (and otherwise being inferior academically) and having their own football facility (and Idaho plays in a quonset hut), name one metric by which those two schools are not "categorically" inferior to SDSU when it comes to conference membership. And last I looked the same can be said of Idaho and NMSU in comparison to CSU and perhaps other MWC members not called SJSU.

Boom goes the dynamite.

It's about tv markets.  Idaho and NMSU don't have one.

Last years vandal squad was as good as Idaho can get and they made the potato bowl. If the mw expands they need programs with upside. Schools that have the ability to make an impact and not be bottom feeders year in and year out like Idaho has proven they are. Horrible facilities and no fan base is what Idaho has. That's why they're going fcs.

"but we only lost to Stanford by 3."

Pretty sure my comment is factually supported in that the University of Idaho is a research institution that grants PhDs, and a good portion of schools in the MWC are not.  And believe what you will, U of Idaho, when it really matters, is academically superior to SDSU. The only metrics that matter are: is the school a research university? does the school grant PhDs? And don't forget published research. I just read a book by a faculty member at UNM. Not read one by a faculty member at any of the CSUs (save an edited volume from a couple guys at Sac State.)

The end.

So maybe Idaho could be our Vanderbilt.

Also, I didn't go to SJSU.

Once SDSU, CSU, unlv, and Boise are gone, they'd be a great part of this FCS conference

No shoes, no shirt, no DICE.

UNLV has plenty of PhD programs and just welcomed its first med school class.

As a vandal fan... the competition is a drop down from the SunBelt but I wouldn't mind listening...

Would the conference attitude still be BSU and then everyone else...

The MWC thought they bought a Ferrari...  taint nuttin but a Kit Car...

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! No, seriously HA! HA!

I think your first mistake is assuming that the Mountain West is weaker than the Sun Belt ?

A 6-7 South Alabama beat San Diego State last year...  speaks volumes.

San Diego State Logo
24
San Diego State 3-1
South Alabama Logo
42
South Alabama 3-2

And then the Bowl season clearly illustrates  the SunBelt is better.

Troy will open your MWC season beating your number 1 team...  BSU...

You know...  the team that Air Force clearly owns...

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! No, seriously HA! HA!

That attempt at redirection does not change South Alabama's dominance over a #19 Aztec team...

Considering your fanship status....  that wound is still fresh...  your post was a sorry attempt to cover your tears.

The game...  wasn't even close.

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! No, seriously HA! HA!
