Any list without the "Summer of Steele" is garbage.

Good point. I'll add it.

Someone explain this...Summer of Steele?

Also, I thought the summer of CT//Huge and Insurmountable was pretty funny.

@Nevada Convert latched on to some Phil Steele worshiping cult and started to predict things like Nevada blowing the doors of Notre Dame in South Bend.

It's the reason Convert won the troll derby.  The story goes, Phil Steele was really high on Nevada heading into the 2009 season and believed we were set for a huge year.  Even went so far as predicting a win over Notre Dame.  Well, Convert apparently ran his mouth here all damn summer.

We lost to Notre Dame 35-0 to open the season. The rest is history.

Was that a theme over an entire summer though? If so, I'll add it.

You would have been amazed. Convert's Phil Steele cult worship that year was at an unprecedented level of bizarre.

You are such a propagandist goof. Every year it gets grander and grander. I never ever ever ever said anything to the effect that we would kill Notre Dame. I said that we had a chance, just a chance. And I used the Steele rankings by position for both teams to make the case that we could possibly beat them. I always said that it could be a close game, and if we stay close into the 4th, maybe we could pull it out.

Where I did say that we would win was the CSU game, and I offered a $500 bet when some cocky CSU fans were saying they would beat us soundly. No one took the bet and they should have. And I would've paid it.

The whoooooooooooole summer.  I remember endless blathering about how Nevada would beat the Irish and crush CSU.  The exact opposite happened.

After that, Steele was like Judas to Convert.

That was great, but I picked Josh "The Savior" Allen because it is only just getting started and it's already huge.

Good one re 2012, I added it to the poll. I forgot about Choo Choo with all the USU license plates observed in Salt Lake and deep pocketed Nike executive alums.
