Weather in Phoenix

Well, maybe not Laramie but in my book, Phoenix is just awful. It's even hotter than Vegas but lacks the great nightlife without having anything LV doesn't have.

Greater PHX has a soul.  It's actually dramatically different than Vegas.  And yes, not having that Vegas nightlife is a plus for those of us who live here.  Most tourists fly in and don't experience anything but the resort, golf course, spa, restaurant, or spring training stadiums.

edit:

this is not a shot at Las Vegas

I got it.  I wasn't taking a shot at your city.  I would imagine you wouldn't say your city is PHX with night life.

Edit:

I lived in Las Vegas for a month.  I have good friends that used to live there and I would stay with them and do the locals thing.  In fact, one is debating moving back because he loves living there, and I am pounding his head telling to move back there.  I've got nothing against your city.  Except when they play the Aztecs or the Pack :)

i knew you weren't. and no, vegas is NOT phoenix, lol. i often envy the sports options there, and would love to walk from chase field after a baseball game, to right next door to talking stick arena and watch a basketball game, and then take the light rail out of the downtown area...i think i'll plan that next april, hopefully the two sports will cooperate. B)  i guess we could eventually walk from the raiders' stadium over to t mobile and do the same. maybe.

anyway, that's the night life I want, lol.

I don't think anyone in Las Vegas needs a Facebook account because everyone they've ever known visits Las Vegas once a year.

i added an edit to my previous post.

Two guys working landscaping on my property had signs of heat stroke in PHX.  Too hot.

Hope you hooked them up with water and shade and some rest.

And exactly what kind of landscaping were they doing?

Pruning cacti or moving river rock around?

I swear most of the "landscaping" down here is guys blowing dust around with a leaf blower.

I bet they were moving rocks, picking weeds, pruning trees, he might have some grass.  There is actually a lot of landscaping to be done down here.  It employs a lot of people, albeit at not great wages.

I can relate to the leaf blowers. The guys employed by our hoa are here twice a week and run those things for 8 hours blowing one pile of dirt and leaves into another pile.

Looks like fun?

The ones where I live don't mind firing them up bright and early either to wake everyone up.

I have been in Phoenix in 118, but not the 120s.  Still Jamaica in July is more miserable.  95 with the humidity wins hands down.

I've been in Phoenix with it over 120° and in the Bahamas at 95° with humidity. I'll take the Bahamas out of those two situations.

I do t know man.  Maybe it was because none of the air conditioners in Jamaica seem to work properly.  Those guys all think 80 degrees is optimum temperature.

I agree with you.  I hate humidity.  Wyoming and Colorado is as far East as I like to go for the most part.  Some quick vacations back East but that is it.  Phoenix at 120 really isn't that bad with shade and AC.

Some humidity isn't bad and I live with it everyday, but around the coasts can be unbearable at times.

When I first moved to Vegas in 1994, They were still in there mode of being a family friendly place with games and roller coaster rides. There was no such thing as a fancy nightclub in a casino. For example, the MGM Grand used to have a nice amusement park with good rides like the log jam.  Then it got torn down when the family thing was being tossed out for the "naughty things you do in Vegas stay in Vegas" philosophy. I kind of miss the family themes sometimes.
