I didn't go to SJSU. But I think it's cute when one member of the CSU system thinks it's academically different than another one.

Couldn't get in? SDSU is head and shoulders above ALL CSUs other than Poly

Not for nothing, but that is half the conference.  And I would add CSU.

I pose a question to you, good sir.  What if somehow this conference collective got back to its days of being truly competitive.  NY6 busters not named Boise, at-large bids and wins in the basketball, baseball and softball NCAA's, multiple ranked teams in multiple sports.  Would your thoughts of leaving change?  What if we got the tier 3's and somehow got more national games?  Just trying to gauge the threshold.

SOFTBALL doesn't matter. BASEBALL does matter a little but the MWC has always been one of the worst such leagues in the country so good luck with that. For BASKETBALL even the twit of a commissioner this conference has just admitted a few weeks ago that it's become a "one bid" conference. That could change but I think Dutch has to be the real deal, Menzies has to do more than just recruit well (think Dave Rice), UNM's new guy has to be good too and CSU has to replace Rat Boy 2 with Miles. That's a lot to ask for. FOOTBALL has no chance. Hairball & Co. threw that away when they (1) didn't let BYU have their TV channel and eat it too so they left, (2) invited horrendous SJSU if not also USU, (3) agreed to TV deals which benefited one school to the detriment of everybody else and (4) imposed travel subsidies which have effectively prevented one of the few schools in the conference with true football potential, Hawaii, from being able to realize that potential.

Boom goes the dynamite.

First tier and second tier rights need to be sold as a conference.  Boise T.V. deal needs to go.  Travel subs need to go.

It would be great if schools could keep tier 3 rights and maybe rebroadcasting rights.

The only way the Boise TV deal goes is if Boise faces the choice of TV deal or no conference.

SDSU may choose to make that move.  It would be interesting what Fresno and Hawaii do if they push that option.  Will they go independent with them?

SDSU and Fresno could likely join the Big West.   Fresno, SDSU, BYU and Hawaii could have a scheduling deal with each other and possibly  UMass, New Mexico State for Oct. Nov.

I was just going for the hypothetical.  Sort of like What if you had to choose between Jessica Alba or Scarlett Johansen?

We'll get more quality schools to come over thus a bigger payout with the attendance increase. Nevada wouldn't be able to get a TV deal by yourself.

Hawaii, Boise st, San Diego st, BYU, UNLV, Air Force, and maybe Fresno st are the only MWC schools that could get their own tv deal and survive. The rest will have to go to the Big Sky or CUSA with UTEP.

i speak the truth

Do you think UNLV could?  Football drives the bus and they are getting pro competition?

Fresno and SDSU would have an advantage in pairing because they both have graduates in the others geographic space adding interest.

I think there is a SERIOUS chance this conference loses several schools at the next negotiations. Your scenario could very well happen.

It would be interesting given the size of the CA market if Oceana might produce games and sell then back into the CA market.   It would also be interesting what happens to the Big West TV deal if you added Fresno and SDSU into the mix.   Coverage by California cable providers would be interesting.

Playing in a stadium closer to the strip will increase UNLV attendance by more that 35%. Book it...

The next P12/B12/B10 negotiations have a very remote chance of changing the makeup of the MWC.  The next MWC negotiations only have the potential of handing out shit sandwiches.

You do realize that dre is in his moms basement wearing aztech face paint?  Suds ain't going nowhere because they have nowhere to go. Almost as laughable as rainbow fans.

The bigger question is not about SDSU, fans should be concerned more about Fresno State leaving.
