Ouch. If Hutch stays in the draft, who does BSU have for next year? Duncan and Reid graduate. Who else is there?

Good.  We will have to win the conference tournament next year anyways.  Less competition.

If Hutch stayed in the draft we would be utterly atrocious.  Jessup, Hobbs, and Dickinson will all be good but not carry the team good yet. We have a transfer who is a slightly more athletic version of Duncan. Same size and weight, can shoot the 3, and started most of his career in the A10.  Can shoot off the dribble which Duncan couldn't so I think he will be an upgrade over Duncan.  The whole season now depends on Hutch's decision

Hobbs is a big time scorer (Top-20 in high school) and really progressed near the end of the season. He had 5 double digit scoring outputs in the last 6 games (that's kinda a lie, as one of those 5 was actually 9 points... but close). Jessup had the best FR year of anyone since Marks and Drmic. Dickinson showed some things his FR year as well. His numbers were pretty close to what Austin's were his FR year. They have a SR transfer who averaged 12 ppg last year at Fordham. They'll still be pretty good, but it is gunna hurt.

It's terribly disappointing as they were really set up to have a huge year. They had depth, scoring, and size all over the place. Hobbs is a better and more dynamic scorer than Paris, but it really hurts the depth and one of the big pluses going into the season was having three guys (Paris, Hobbs, and Hutch) who could all create for themselves.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. I'm still optimistic for the season, but that definitely puts a damper on the season. Gunna need Sengfelder, Hobbs, Jessup, and Dickinson to step up  more than they would have had to. If Hutch doesn't come back it's a complete rebuild year.

At least Dickinson is a better shooter and defender than Paris.   Not as smooth with the ball and doesn't have as much ability to drive.  But he was pretty solid late in the season for a true frosh.

It's definitely not a "good" thing, but Dickinson might be a better fit for the team. He's a better shooter, defender, and seemed to be a really good leader. This could really set Hobbs up for a big season. He'll get a lot of opportunity and he can score in a variety of ways.

I hate to see any good talent leave the conference..it does indeed suck...

Yeah, just like the Molehill Worst generally.

Austin would be wise to transfer to SDSU.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Maybe not all hope is lost?

But serious question, is Hutch going to be enough to carry the team?

It is a blow, but Boise just had their best FR class since Drmic and Marks first season. They need to go find another guard for their rotation, but they're still gunna be pretty good. Not as good, but good.

Despite being from Oakland he was never offered by SDSU presumably because Fish & Co. thought they could transition Kell from a 2 to PG like they did with DJ Gay. That didn't work last year but Devin Watson, our transfer from the USF, will be the starter at that position this season when Austin would have to sit following which Watson will have just one more year for Austin to split time with and then he could be SDSU's starter. So with three schollies still available, watch for SDSU to go after Austin now. I'm sure the parents know Oakland's just a little over an hour in the air from SD.

Boom goes the dynamite.
