Should Colbert face discipline? On air, said about Trump

Start calling CBS and Colbert's advertisers. If enough Trump supporters call and get advertisers to pull their support I'm sure you can get him suspended.

That's not the point.

Colbert's show is OTA (although later at night). Can a parent even block OTA signals on a TV?

It's massive disrespect for the president and his office, and a slur against gays.

When he called the person a … a … cocksucker,” Anderson stammered, “and then said he didn’t know ‘cocksucker’ was an anti-gay — I mean, what adult does not know calling a guy a ‘cocksucker’...

“The worst thing you can possibly think of to say, which is what this situation was, to talk about a sexual act between two guys as being the worst thing you can possibly think of,” he said.

That is the point. That is how you get someone suspended voice your opinion to the company and advertisers. A media company isn't going to suspend someone for saying something that doesn't threaten their bottom line. All suspensions of other hosts/media personalities have come after a backlash from the public/advertisers(or they know if they don't act there will be a massive backlash). So get on the horn and let your feelings known.

Personally it doesn't bother me.

I don't like it and think it is homophobic, so I'll do exactly what I do when a conservative says something like that.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

Hmmm. Interesting. There could be some gray areas here. Hold on while I play this out:

Saying Roswell is a cocksucker? ... Definitely a slur.
Thinking Roswell is a cocksucker? ... Gay slur, but we can't police thought.
Making a joke that Roswell is a cock holster for (enter name of specific GOP member here)? ... I don't know. It seems like the specificity offers some room for ambiguity.

Thoughts anyone?

Let me get one thing straight, Mr. Giant. I don't go looking for love LOVE COMES LOOKING FOR ME

Look, Money talks.  If you don't like it then call CBS and the advertisers.  You're well within your right to be offended but without financial pressure, nothing will change.

This is what I was thinking.

The specificity of the insult makes it less homophobic. Still could be seen that way but less so than just calling someone a C*ck@cker. Its more describing the relationship rather than demeaning someone for an act.

I think you just used a gay slur Mr. board owner. That may or may not make you a cocksucker.
