SDSU signs home and home with UCLA

Recommended Posts

2nd home and home going with them now. 14 PAC12 games over next 12 seasons. We will win a few, hopefully against the UCLA/Stanfords of the league rather than OSU/Wazzu..

2023 and 2026 sounds so far off, but kudos to SUDS for making the deal. Mora's on the hot seat at UCLA, according to every sportswriter in LA county.

conference game in 2026

Impossible.  There is already a UC Campus SD County located in La Jolla.

That's a great get. Shiit Nevada was Pac12 central with OOC games towards the end of Aults reign. He wanted as many PAC games as possible for recruiting and fan interest. But since he's left, we're off playing other conferences. WE canceled our home games with UCLA and Oregon the last few years for scheduling reasons, and that just sucks. In recent years we've have and had series games with:

UCLA

CAL

Oregon

Oregon St.

Washington

Wqshington St.

Arizona

We also almost worked a series with Arizona St. before Ault left. Knuth came from Utah, so we should easily be able to get that on the books if we wanted. I guess I should quit whining so much because we do have games on the books with Oregon, Wazzu, CAL and we have Oregon St. next year at home. But Ault seemed to want at least one PAC game per season with a lot of years having 2 games. Road games at CAL, USC and UCLA are perfect for recruiting.

Memphis should win. IF they do not, it will show you where the AAC and Memphis is.

former Memphis Head Coach Rip Scherer is on the UCLA staff (it's part of how we got the game) I expect Rip will have em ready to play Memphis at his old stomping grounds.

As long as all the folks running the PAC are around, CA state schools like SDSU and Fresno won't even cross their minds as having potential. It's not fair, but that's life. The new folks in the future will probably carry on the PAC snob attitude anyway.

The Aztecs are like 2-39 against P5 schools and haven't beat any with a winning record. But they're scared ???

They beat a decent CAL team, so that's a start. SDSU just needs to finish the 4th strong and not let these games get away. No one cares if you lose by 1 or 3 or 7. The way cfb works these days, partial credit isn't given to G5's that play P5's close. It's all or nothing.

Congratulations, you repeated what I just said using 3x as many words.

Boise fans prolly wouldn't know cuz they were still at the DIAA level at the time but USC played SDSU in a two-fer in the 90s. The game in SD ended in a tie and although USC boat raced the Aztecs in one of the two games at the Coliseum, it is arguable that but for a blown incomplete pass call on what the replay showed was a lateral which SDSU picked up and took to the house, we would have won the other game which ended 21-17. With the exception of the tie game in which Faulk played, our team wasn't nearly as good then as it is now. Afraid? Maybe that's a bit strong but it's clear they don't want to schedule us again.

Boom goes the dynamite.
