Sorry I have to use BYU. It's the only other school besides Hawaii, UNLV and San Diego St. that has any hope of making this new conference a P-6 conference. As someone else pointed out, there's nothing wrong with the current MW, we just need the schools to step it up. The MW has the best D1 schools available right now. Nevada winning the MW was good for our conference, it's just too bad they became a one and done like Fresno State. But what we need is for UNLV, New Mexico, and SDSU to get back to those glory days of being a consistent threat in basketball. The MWC thought they could impose a set of standards on entrants but those standards were holding back the conference from fielding multiple BCS contenders who could regularly beat out BCS schools in the non conference. Utah, using its leverage as a multiple BCS champion, fit nicely into the Pac 10's backup plan after the super conference idea failed. The only hope the MWC had at keeping Utah (and therefore the band) together was to field a national champion caliber conference which only could've happened in a conference that included Utah, BSU, TCU, UNR, UH, FSU, Houston and BYU - teams that could get victories in the non conference against BCS opposition. If the MWC became a national champion conference and contender, then perhaps Utah, TCU, and BYU reconsider moving on. *Now that I think about it, BSU nearly beat Louisville in 2004's Liberty Bowl and was already a famous ESPN off day college football option.
