If those are the final 4 candidates Musselman should get the job hands down

Agreed. If that is the list...It's Muss's to take you'd have to think.

Will be interesting how this plays out.

All is well, For Rice is gone.

I'm planning a takeover of an island territory by way of getting through favorable legislation. Once that happens and I secure myself as the Ayatollah of the Northern Marianas, I'll appoint you as Minister of Information. The position is as good as long as we can stave off the inevitable bloody coup.

Accepted! As my first action, may I suggest a different title for your eminence? There is currently a maniac in possession of a enormous fleet of predator drones, and I think there is a real possibility he may decide to assissinate a certain Ayatollah during one of his greasy, twitter-laced, bowel movements. He not being a stickler for details, we wouldn't want to be the wrong ayatollah if things got mixed up when the missiles start flying.

Goodbye Musselman. I cracked the code. Muss just started following Olivier Sarr one of the best international prospects who has narrowed his list to 4 schools ...... Cal is one of the schools that made the cut for Sarr

Maybe, maybe not. Muss has been recruiting Starr at Nevada for several months now.

Every go check Yanni Hufnagels Twitter he took down his back round picture of him an Musselman an took off his Twitter feed that he is a coach for Nevada... That's a bad sign

Musselman's twitter still says he's the NV coach.

Good point. Last thing I want would be my hacienda destroyed by a predator drone. I know how that dude gets about the cyber too.

So, I'm thinking instead, of going with "Brotherly Leader and Guide of the First of July Great Revolution of the Socialist People's Jamahiriya of the Northern Marianas"

Even the pesky Arab sounding "Jamahiriya" would probably get by the censors owing to the long title.

When holding court this title will present your wisdom and majesty before all. But we need a whiter brand for the rest of the world. I think Joe, the Duke of Caligulaland will serve until the wimpy liberals resume power in the west. Think of how the papers will love it. "The Duke has arrived to negotiate an arms for opioids treaty." Drudge will eat it up.

Interesting...

Think we'll find out in the next day or two?

I don't think they're going to hire Musselman. I think UNR is safe. I think it'll be Dennis Gates.

If Muss was their primary target and wanted the job, we should have heard something by now.

I'm still thinking he's on not their 1-3 short list.

Not a chance. I think you all (UNR fans) inflated his worth. He is probably the fallback to the fallback to the fallback. With the money they have and the various connections, I'd think they'd be going a little bigger than Muss.

Byron Scott, Jason Kidd, or Dennis Gates. I almost would think that DeCurie from Montana would be ahead of Muss too given his Kal ties.

Wait what? Nevada fans? You have more posts in this thread than most of us combined. I'm just waiting for the axe to fall, or not. All the speculation and "insider" info is fake news as far as I'm concerned.

I did read one of the Cal boards and they didn't seem all that excited about Muss but then again all he needs to do is convince the AD he's the right man for the job. See Nevada's football hire that came out of left field.

Actually, it was the Vegas fans who inflated his worth. They want him gone.

I think he's a great coach, and the quick turnaround he has performed is amazing.  But he still has work to do.  It's going to take more than winning a shitty league for him to become the "hot, mid major coach."

i honestly don't think muss goes anywhere...i think he's in reno for a while.

So you think it's his high paying salary that will keep him there?  If he gets a good offer he will be spinning tires out of the parking lot.

well now i know you really are 'slow'...it's better for all of us if muss stays, and we're not the ones who 'inflated his worth'.

where did i say that?

and he could very well be gone, last week i didn't think he'd get offered the cal or washington jobs. sounds like cal has it narrowed down to him or pasternak.

Does anyone else think this is a risky hire for Cal? The Hufnagel stuff would blow over but I'm talking about him staying there? He hasn't stayed anywhere since 1994 for more than 2 years. They just lost Martin and honestly if Muss does well in 2 years I could see him eyeing a bigger job again.

Yeah, I think it's risky for Cal. But with them paying the next guy 1.5 mil, they are going to have to take a risk.

Like us, Cal is also a stepping stone program.  Do well there and better programs come calling.
