That is just gay.

Butthurt over the success of other conference schools is indeed gay. It occurred for many months surrounding Utah fans saying there was a good chance they were going to get out of Hairville.

SDSU 2017 is basically Utah 2004. It took the Utes about half a dozen more years to know for certain they were leaving and by about 2023, SDSU will similarly know it's getting out of this place.

Boom goes the dynamite.

If we get it going, I will post more stadium construction porn than all CJ Wyo construction posts combined.  It shall be glorious!

I hope you don't expect us to stop posting ours.

We've got the High Altitude Performance Center, the AA phase 2 renovation, the engineering building, the science building, new dorms, Corbett Pool, and the West Side of War Memorial coming up.

How will SDSU West be paid for?  What is the cost expected to be?

Depends on if we get a lease, or fee title.  Academic buildings will likely come from state/private funds or bonds.  Stadium would likely be a blend of financial sources, with a likely low amount from the state after the Cal Memorial stadium boondoggle.

But I am not sure of an exact funding strategy.

Post away, CJ.

Just prepare your optical anii if the shovels hit the ground though.  :D

That's the thing. We've already shoveled 1 billion dollars into the property value of the Laramie campus since 2005.

We'll see if we can figure out this education funding dilemma challenging our state. I'm guessing having a Republican president and Republican control of the senate won't hurt.

We've got big plans for the campus in Laramie. It will continue to see more growth in the future.

Bring on the drawings though. Congrats on the new stadium.

SDSU has certainly gotten a few buildings in the dirt recently.  Good things happening at a few of the schools in this conference.  BSU is putting up a crazy amount of buildings too.

Yeah, there are a good number of MWC institutions that are building. Most of them are in the Mountain division though.

We need some good old fashioned West division facilities construction. The West needs to get better.

It will be interesting to see what SDSU will do, if UNLV will end up getting to play in the Raiders stadium, and if Fresno will kick off their stadium renovation in earnest.

Because the water district rather than the city owns a portion of the land and because environmentalists have been lobbying for more than a year to create a park out of some of it, I doubt the entire 166 acres will be up for sale. As to the portion of it which will, and I've heard speculation it will be about 25% of the land, SDSU is a member of the largest university system in the country. The CSU isn't going to fund a football stadium but I've heard nothing to suggest the CSU isn't going to pay for that 120 acres or whatever to allow the university to develop it. For that reason, although I've also seen estimates of the assessed value of the 166 acres, I've paid no particular attention to it and can't recall the amount.

Boom goes the dynamite.

I visited Colorado State this past summer and they are throwing up some huge science buildings (Biology & Chemistry).  They also have a large Health Services building under construction.  They also just opened up a huge dorm complex.  That place is booming.

Biology & Chemistry buildings..

I was referring to the LA logo!! LOL!!

But while you're on that topic, if you do think you're getting an invite because of a new stadium, that is just silly silly. So many example to show that means very little.  State needs to up their attendance, beat FCS and Sunbelt teams more often and then hope for a crazy miracle in 10 years.

Yeah, the Border War facilities boom has been really good for Wyoming and CSU.

We started building in 2005 and CSU has taken the loans to keep up.

Now CSU is sitting on almost as much new property value as Wyoming, although there's is buried in loan debt.

Either way, both CSU and Wyoming are in pretty good positions moving forward.

Boise has thrown down a ton of facilities. UNM went on a big campaign a few years ago.

We need that same thing to happen in the West division and bring the level of competition up.

Here's a reminder of what Wyoming has dropped. It was 800 million in new facilities from 2005-2014. With the AA renovation, the High Altitude Performanc Center, the Mike Enzi Stem facility, the High Bay Research Center, and the Engineering complex, the total is north of 1 billion now.

A park wouldn't be at all bad for some of the space....it should be incorporated into the campus plan. I could see SDSU developing a real football culture with a smaller on campus stadium and a nice green tailgating area, kind of like the Grove at Ole Miss.

In the meantime, the Chargers will be secondary tenants at the StubHub Center and their schedule built around the Galaxy's.
