Why?  If they were gonna schedule Idaho it would have been when they were fbs.  I don't think it will happen with bsu's new scheduling policies.

Because Idaho wanted a home and home or 2 for 1, BSU refused - that's the only reason the game wasn't scheduled.

Now that Idaho is FCS, they cannot ask for a home game.

There's that condescension and provincialism that defines the U of I.  It's everyone else's fault; the world conspires against you, etc etc etc.

Did you miss the part where I placed the blame on us having shitty leadership?

That's cause you are a Boise State fan (Bronco78)

That's the retard is behind this BYUtop25 sock?  Honestly, I thought it was just one of HoustonBronco's alter egos.  Both are equally dimwitted.

Idaho should get a h&h or nothing. Regardless of fcs status that is why the game won't happen.

There's a bright side to everything, and in this case BSU will start scheduling Idaho again.

Nah, If we're going to schedule an FCS Idaho team, let it be one that actually contributes to the valley and doesn't create an epic, financial black hole remaining as its lasting gift to the city of Boise.

Idaho State only in my book.

Idaho will actually start to put together better teams with the drop.  In 6 years from now they will make the 1aa playoffs again.  watch out then.

Agree. They actually had top talent last time they were in the big sky. John Friesz best quarterback to ever play college football in Idaho?

The issue was that Krusty Bob didn't want a home and home, now that issue has been alleviated by FCS status.

Idaho will be scheduled for the next opportunity that comes available in the schedule, that may be six years from now.

You're more than welcome to your opinion, I would be willing to bet that FCS Idaho does come to Boise.

Idaho did not beat a team with a winning record this season.  In fact, since joining D1 in 1996, Idaho has a grand total of 5 wins against FBS teams that finished the season with a winning record:

1996 vs. Nevada (9-3)

1998 vs. Boise State (6-5)

1998 vs. Southern Miss (7-5) Humanitarian Bowl

2009 vs. Northern Illinois (7-6)

2009 vs. Bowling Green (7-6) Humanitarian Bowl

That's right.  They haven't beaten a halfway decent team in 7 years.

It's worse than I thought.  If there was ever an example of why not to make the jump it would be Idaho.

It will take them a while just to compete in the big sky.  What a bad choice to move up.

Not it sure why Vandals fans are so upset. 5 wins in 20 years.  I think most Vandal fans will be happy just to start winning again.  I agree with the prez.  At least someone up there has some common sense.

So which is it?  Will it take Idaho awhile to compete or will they start winning again?  Not really being consistent here.

By the way, common sense is realizing that dropping down is not "moving forward".  Staben is about ignorant about this situation as you can get.  There's a reason no other teams in similar situations are dropping down and why most who have that option on the table view FCS as a laughably bad option.  It's a dying division that is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.  A consistent 6-6 G5 team is still better off than a 5 time FCS national champ as far as pure dollars, national exposure, and almost anything else you can think of go.

EWU just hosted 3 straight FCS playoff games with an average attendance of less than 5,500 people.  If anybody thought Idaho averaging 11,000 was bad just wait until they're playing Southern Utah and Northern Colorado every week.  No one will give a shiiit, especially with WSU 8 miles away.  In Idaho's currently situation it makes more sense to drop the football program completely and reallocate all the resources put into it than to downsize and pretend like it's going to solve a bunch of problems.  Idaho finally gets a decent coach for the first time in 18 years and the president lies through his teeth to ensure that the legs get kicked out from underneath the program.  It's a joke no matter how you look at it but it's what I've come to expect after this many years of following Idaho football.  If they don't find a way to screw themselves over someone else will.

Staben/Spear would have to be an absolute retard to agree to this which means yeah, it probably will happen.  And I'm sure if it does happen that the week of the game will be the one week of the year that the mouth-breathers on the Idaho SBOE get their morality police out in full force to make sure no one consumes the devil's brew in the parking lot.  Think of the children man.  Allowing Billy-Bob to carry his loaded 9mm on campus in case he sees a suspicious brown person is okay, but drinking beer in a parking lot is a safety issue.  Only in Idaho, and specifically southern Idaho, are people this fukking stupid.
