Yeah, I think it is fairly new; along with the IMAX theater that they put in there. It is reserved seating, so you don't have to worry about showing up early. Honestly after 30 minutes of previews, I would probably just show up late to the movie if I were to see it again.

One thing, if you do see it at Town Square, there isn't much room to get by people when the seats are reclined. So if you think you'll need to get up during the movie, you probably will want to sit closer to the aisle. If you don't want to deal with anyone climbing over you, I'd shoot for the middle.

Same thing at the Orleans.  Leather recliners and reserved seating.  I went to a matinee so it wasn't crowded at all.

Reserved seating is the way to go. Especially nice when the seats are more luxurious and recline. There is another theater in Henderson, Galaxy Theaters, that are reserved seating and those chairs recline almost all the way. Their projectors aren't as nice though.

The IMAX seats don't recline but the seats in all the other screens do at that theater, including the DFX Atmos.

The one thing i disklike about IMAX is that they are all only in 3D now. I don't care to wear the glasses that much. It's okay, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

It really bothered me before I got lasik.  I avoided 3D movies whenever I could.  Now I don't care either way.

Yeah, the glasses just hurt my eyes after a little while and I usually will have to take them off for a minute or two a couple times during the movie.

I had to check it out.  The Town Square uses Dolby Cinema and is not a Dolby Atmos theater.  I haven't been to a Dolby Cinema theater so that is another one I need to check out.

The only two theaters that use Dolby Atmos are the Brenden at the Palms and Galaxy at the Cannery.

The one @mugtang mentions is a DFX Atmos which I havent seen either.  Damnit, now I have check that out.

I think the Dolby and DFX Atmos are the same thing.  At least that's what I gathered from a quick google search.

The Cannery mentions DFX/Dolby Atmos here, they seem to use it interchangeably

I want 2D and I don't give a crap about the surround sound.  It just seems so unnatural and distracting to me.  Also, I feel weird in the theaters with recliners and food trays.  It feels gluttonous or something.

Furthermore I don't like puppies, free shipping, ice cream or trampolines. :P

I thoroughly enjoyed Vader going full savage on the Rebel crew at the end of the movie. Unless I'm mistaken, we never got to see that type of savagery on a helpless group from him in episodes 4, 5 or 6.

I wish they had spent a little more time on that savagery.  Less Tarkin, more Vader!

Dolby Atmos theaters are certified by Dolby and are the most expensive sound systems to install.  There aren't many of them,  In all of Las Vegas we have two properties that have them.  DFX is not the same and is more like the XD (eXtream Digital) that I saw.  The cannery has a DFX theater and a Dolby Atmos theater combined.  That might actually be where I want to go.

Use this link to find out where in your area you have one:  https://www.dolby.com/us/en/movie-finder/index.html

Interesting.  I saw Jungle Book in DFX Dolby Atmos (which is how it's advertised here on the Dolby site) but Galaxy Theaters just calls it DFX Atmos.  I'm so confused on what to call it.  Phuck....

I think you have one of those theaters that gives you the best with both DFX and Atmos in the same theater.  That is what I want to see.

Rogue One was a great Star Wars movie.  Easily better than 1-3 and possibly better than Return of the Jedi.

**SPOILERS**

Great cast.  Cool story explaining why the Death Star had such a glaring weakness, Having Tarkin appear was awesome and unexpected, Star Destroyers, X-wings and X-wing pilots from A New Hope making an appearance added to the nostalgia, Vader kicking serious ass was all great for me.  The movie had it all.

I saw it in IMAX, twice, and was wowed by it.  I'm reluctant to see it it in a regular theater.

Blew your load early, you did. [/yoda]

Saw it in a regular theater, and stoked to go see it a 2nd time in 3D wid da wife, maybe a 3rd time after that in IMAX with a friend.

Saw VII twice, but that was only because the first time was in IMIN, i.e., a 3rd world cineplex.

Breathing mask guy was a George Lucas character from the latest cartoons who hasn't had a movie debut yet so I think they wanted to establish him in the Star Wars universe.  White outfit guy needed to die at the end so they couldn't use Tarkin.  Totally agree with not developing the relationships between the Rogue One folks.  The first 1.5 acts were so plodding but yet there was a lack of quiet time character development.  To me, that's one thing that prevented the movie from being truly epic.  Other than Jyn, I really could have cared less about anyone else.

Maybe they should have started with breathing mask guy dying and them escaping the planet Jedha and then did a flashback sequence or something to develop the relationship with Jyn, breathing mask guy, and the Admiral a little more.  It feels like they could have established that a bit quicker and I think breathing mask guy really slowed things down and he didn't really add that much to the story.  It really started off slow for a Star Wars movie.
