They're the best site for recruiting rankings, as their composite score is an average of all the top sites.

That's why they're bad, no verification

Yeah, but AF doesnt have any three stars yet they are middle of the pack.

Your administration is the reason why our basketball league is bleeding out currently. If you didn't insist on San Jose being in the MWC, so you guys would have someone that votes similar to SDSU, every team in the MWC wouldn't have to play 2 games vs. a team with a 330 RPI ranking EVERY season.

You guys are as stupid as you are desperate.   - Cowboy Junky

I think it should play a factor, not a huge one but it is important. Quantity absolutely matters in football. That being said not sure any of AFA guys have been scouted much

Well AFA is not just recruiting football players, they are recruiting men who are going to serve our country. They have a harder job to recruiting and also the military only allows guys in that are so big, so they are always undersized in the trenches.

I have nothing but respect for AFA.✈

Dru Brown, a 2017 recruit according to 24/7sports composite recruiting rankings, has been named the starting QB for Hawaii this week against Nevada.  2017 recruit Brown has had playing time in the last 3 games for UH.  Under 2017 recruit Brown's leadership, UH scored Touchdowns on 3 of 4 drives against Arizona.   Fellow 2017 recruit Cole Brownholtz enrolled at Hawaii to compete for the 2016 UH starting QB spot. After losing the competition, it has been decided that 2017 recruit Brownholtz will redshirt the 2016 season.

Rivals will always be weighted towards CSU as most of their scouts are in the South and East. CSU recruits those areas more than most of the MW,  especially with Bobo as HC

True, but that just magnifies the lack of reliability of these rankings.  No two services see anything the same.  Obviously, no two coaches see things the same either.  They are interesting to look at, but meaningless till about year 3 or 4 of a players career.

It's just a way to occupy time in the offseason. Boise State was built on under recruited and low rated players. It was all talent evaluation and development. Utah State has been very good at that the last decade.

The place where it does help is giving coaches the ability to whiff on recruits and adding depth. One of the reasons Boise State stays so consistent is their ability to withstand injuries. Even the kids that don't live up to the hype make serviceable backups. When you take fliers on projects that don't pan out they often are just scout team players.
