Pine Bluffs Wyoming 2017 recruit, Hunter Thompson, decommitted from Creighton...

And he is going to be a walk-on his freshman year until more scholarships open up in 2018. Pretty cool and unselfish of him. Hopefully we can land Parker Stewart.

Actually, most Wyoming fans don't give a crap about the star rating system. It's flawed and it usually favors people in high population areas. It's east coast biased as hell. It favors BCS schools.

Parker Stewart is 4 star by ESPN.

The thing most Wyoming fans are excited about is that we're beating a lot of major programs to get to these kids. We beat Memphis to get Louis Adams. We beat a bunch of big schools to Buddha Jones. We beat a lot of really good schools including, Nevada, CU, UNLV and others to Hunter Thompson.

The new staff is bringing in high quality kids, regardless of your opinion about how many 4 star services have to agree on a kids rating for him to be considered a four star.

You know as well as I do, that fans are going to put 4 star next to a players name if any of the major recruiting services refer to him as a 4 star.

So yeah, he's a four star. He's not a consensus 4 star, by all the rating services. Who cares? We're not trying to win the pre-season recruiting rankings competition. That's UNLV baby.

Parker Stewart ESPN = 3 star http://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/207538/parker-stewart

SDSU has had 5 upper half NCAA berths in a row.

Then he got downgraded. He was a four star.

That's one reason why the ratings systems don't mean a whole lot. When Parker had Wisconsin, Florida, Utah, Memphis, NC State, and many other major programs extending him an offer, he was a four star.

After he cut his final list to seven teams and then scheduled visits to Ole Miss, Wyoming, Kansas State, and Nebraska, he got downgraded to 3 stars.

The player's ability has about as much to do with their rating as the schools recruiting him.

Regardless, his offer list is four star: Wisconsin, Florida, Utah, Memphis, NC State, Georgetown, LSU, Butler, Wyo, Ole Miss, Nebraska, and Kansas State.

Or coaches saw the same thing the services did and he scheduled a downgraded visit schedule because the others started to balk. It is a chicken and egg thing..we don't know which way it went.

And different services rate a kid differently.  He's had 3 or 4 stars everywhere I looked during his recruiting period.  It really isn't too much of a big deal.

We might find out as early as tomorrow on Parker. He's getting worried that the school he wants won't have a scholarship left.

You guys offered him and he cut you from the list as well as Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Florida, Utah, Memphis, NC State, Georgetown, LSU, Butler.....

That offer list doesn't look like many schools started to "balk".

We don't know what happened. The Aztecs got a great PG, Watson. Schools don't report changes from private conversations, players do. That often comes in the form of players "dropping" the school.

Agreed. We don't know what happened.

We do know that both SDSU and Wyoming offered him and SDSU didn't make the final cut.

It's a pretty safe bet that he's a damn good ball player with an offer list that includes SDSU, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Florida, Utah, Memphis, NC State, Georgetown, LSU, Butler, Nebraska, Kstate, Ole Miss, and Wyoming.

There's a lot of reasons why I want him to chose Wyoming. One of them is so we can land our second 4 star recruit in less than a years time that had an offer from SDSU.
