Nevada should be flat out embarrassed losing to WHY. May cost them a bowl bid.

Our losses to Wyoming and UNLV loom large when it comes to any hope of a bowl game/division title. Win those two and our game against SDSU would be for the division championship (assuming we won 2 of the next 3 against Fresno, SJSU & USU). And we would be bowl eligible.   Now.....even getting bowl eligible doesn't make this season feel like any type of success.

The league divides into three groups of four..

Decent

1.  SDSU--  They are on a sharp upward trend.

2.  USU-- Also on a sharp upward trend but suffered the SDSU setback.

3.  BSU-- Got unlucky against BYU and then lost it against USU.  Should be higher.

4.  AFA-- Solid, well-disciplined team.

So-So

5.  SJSU-- Shows promise and has talent but just hasn't put a complete game together.

6.  CSU-- Comments can be the same as for SJSU.  They should be better than this.

7..  UNM-- Davie has been there long enough to build something better but this team struggles to really break through.

8.  UNLV-- Showed promise, especially against Nevada but seems to be crashing back to its former norm

.Bad

9.  Nevada--  A real dilemma.  Show promise but then "crap the bed" against UNLV and Wyoming.

10.  Wyoming-- Showing improvement but they had so far to come.

11.  Fresno--  They beat UNLV.  That's about it.

12.  Hawai'i--  Had a great opening win over a fair P5 school but has regressed since.

Two things. Your panties and hatred of SDSU are showing, and ranking WHY ahead of THREE teams and expaining your ranking is laughable. You rank WHY ahead of Nevada because you beat them, yet USU ahead of SDSU even though they got throttled by the Aztecs. No cred CO Pole

This is hard to argue against ... but you could switch UNLV and UNM (at least for now)

Hawaii has zero conference wins -- CSU, WYO, Fresno St & UNLV at least have 1 conference win.

SDSU has yet to be bested in conference, while USU, BSU & AFA only have 1 loss in conference.

That leaves San Jose St,  Nevada and UNM in the middle

Have to disagree on your last point. Nevada lost to Wyoming. To repeat, Nevada actually lost to Wyoming. On that basis alone they proved themselves inferior to SJSU.

Here are my rankings based mainly on overall performance:

1st Rank: Boise, SDSU, USU

2nd Rank: AFA, CSU, SJSU

3rd Rank: Nevada

4th Rank: UNM, UNLV, Fresno

Totally Rank: Hawaii, Wyoming

Boom goes the dynamite.

If teams are close in record, then "Who Beat Who" and "SOS" determines. If teams aren't close, and/or their schedule doesn't justify it, then "Who beat Who" doesn't mean $h*t. Just means any one team can beat any other team on any given day. Therefor:

1. San Diego State: Because they are undefeated in Conference, but mainly because they also beat Utah State. Losing to South Alabama doesn't help the cause.

2. Utah State: Tied in Conference with Boise and Air Force, but they did beat Boise. Again, "Who beats Who" only matters when it's close.

3. Boise State: Best overall record in the conference. Tied for conference against Utah State and Air Force. One extra game overall win so far. But they lost to Utah State; thus 3rd.

4. Air Force: Tied in conference with Utah State and Boise. 2 losses to ON-FIRE Navy 6-1/4-0 and Michigan State 4-0/8-0 (nothing to be ashamed of). 3rd loss to CSU. "$h*t happens"

5. San Jose State: Pretty much a dead heat with New Mexico and Nevada, but SJSU is one game up on conference, and did beat UNM

6. New Mexico: Normally, I'd say Nevada because overall they're tied, and Nevada did beat UNM..... But Nevada lost to BOTH UNLV and WYOMING.

7. Nevada: Only because of their 2-2 conference record and because they beat UNM ahead of them. But as mentioned, they lost to BOTH UNLV and WYOMING

8. Colorado State: Technically a dead tie with UNLV and Fresno. But they did beat Air Force. So that has to count for something.

9. Fresno: Another tight one with UNLV. Both teams have had tough schedules. And both lost to ranked, powerhouse, and teams above them. But Fresno beat UNLV. And again, that counts when the 2 teams are close to each other.

10. UNLV: Same as #9 Fresno. If they had won against Fresno, they would be #8. They too played and lost against Ranked, Powerhouse, and teams above them.

11. Wyoming: The ONLY reason wyoming is ranked above Hawaii, is because they have 1 conference win. Hawaii has 1 more overall win.

12. Hawaii: As said in #11, Hawaii has NO Conference Wins.

Our OC can't seem to make a first half adjustment to save his life.

I think it's more a case of Polian tying his hands.  But that's just my opinion and isn't based on any inside info.

It pains me to see Wyoming and Hawaii at the bottom. Their fans deserve better. Boise is better than third but they lost to USU and SDSU is playing the best ball right now. To me a three point or less win at home is a loss for comparison purposes. Some interesting games coming up.

I guess some voters don't realize that CSU has only played the consensus top 4 teams in the MWC - BSU, USU, SDSU, AFA. They lost to each  of the top 3 but beat AFA rather convincingly. Having some voters put them in with the rest of the 1-3 teams, shows that they aren't paying attention. CSU has a decent chance of finishing MWC play at 5-3.

SDSU has had 5 upper half NCAA berths in a row.

A fluke?

The Aztecs were underdogs the week before and won 30-7.

The Aztecs were a slight favorites the week after and won 41-17.

That is not fluke, it is a pattern.

And unlike USU and BSU, the Aztecs kill the clock when ahead instead of running up the score to make the final score impressive. So those scores don't do justice to the lop sidedness of the games - just like the USU game where the Aztecs ran the ball with 3rd stringers for much of the second half.

SDSU has had 5 upper half NCAA berths in a row.
