Star Citizen anyone?

This game is going to be so bad ass. This trailer is incredible.

Anyway, I don't like to join guilds but I still like to play with other people. Maybe we can organize a MW Star Citizen group. My brother and a buddy are already buying ships. I'm embarrased to say how much I've dropped on this game.

Who else is chomping at the bit for this?

I got alpha access last summer, but I haven't logged in in months. I should check it out again though, can't wait til it's 'finished.' Might have to borrow my buddies Oculus.

Yeah...my cumputer runs it fairly well but I need to invest in a hotas set up. Ill wait until launch to buy a new pc. The fps and social module are less than a couple months out, so I better get the hotas.

What ships have you bought?

I funded it on kickstarter and followed it very closely for a little while, but the anticipation was getting annoying so I've stopped worrying about it until it comes out. I'm already part of an organization but I'd be willing to leave it if there is one started on this board.

i like it, been following

concerned about the price tho

there are a lot of currently out or upcoming games in this very similar genre so i'm not too worried

It will be priced like a regular game at release. They won't be selling any ships for cash after the full release, they've only been doing it to fund the creation of the game.

Edit: I should mention that they will be selling in game currency for cash, but there will be a daily limit that won't actually amount to that much.

Yeah it sucked me in for a while. I had to take a step back, especially from the forums. The amount people invested makes them think they know than the devs.

i'm guessing you won't have access to the majority of ships from the get go. isn't the in game currency a huge aspect of this game/world? that's what has me worried. could turn out like eve online where the barrier to entry is ridiculous

Well the currency is meant to work like an actual economy, similar to eve, but it won't be nearly as complicated to pick up and play. So yes, you'll start out with a modest ship and have to work your way up to something bigger with larger possible crew complements.

Not to mention that it promises to have a fairly large single-player campaign as well. There are actually a few fully-fledged developers working on the different aspects of the game. This should hopefully lead to a huge amount of content for single players and people wanting to play in the persistent universe.

I think you'll finish Squadron 42 with enough money to buy an entry level ship.

I bought a Phoenix because I'm old and I can. They're designed to take missions that pay the most(small cargo smuggling, vip escort/passengers with bounties). Come man a gun and we'll split the profits evenly amongst everyone onboard after we deduct overhead.

From what I've read, it won't take long to earn enough to buy a kick ass ship.

Its the pc and the hotas that will cost a lot.

Early on, they were talking about having a Star Citizen licensed HOTAS, have you heard anything on that recently?

+++++ a hotas, can get a rift or steam vr for the price lol

Keyboard and mouse guys are dominating Arena Commander right now. It's still in Alpha so we'll have to wait for them to balance it. I know I'm going to use a gamepad and mouse for the FPS and the Hotas and Track IR for piloting.

We'll have to keep this thread up during the work week and see if we can find some more MWCboard people that are going to play, so we can put the whoopass on people with a MWC group.

Haven't heard of it. Y'all must be PC master race pricks :P

This game will definitely be for us PC master race pricks. It's going to be the biggest game ever made and require the biggest system out of any game ever made. It will test the limits of modern gaming technology.

I've got a co-worker who is obsessed with it. He's been playing the alpha/beta religiously and has dropped a crap ton of money on ships. He's part of an organization that has a ton of guys that have nothing better to do with their money but to spend it on a game that hasn't been released yet, so they have ships galore.

I'll probably end up getting it, though I don't know how much time I'll be able to invest in playing it. My computer won't be an issue running it, but goddamn an HOTAS setup isn't gonna be fun to get, nor will the rift... but I was planning on getting one of those anyway.

Geez... spring and summer turns us all into nerds huh... I say that cause I actually READ this thread, and I'm not a gamer... come on football August!
