  1. BTW Looks like they're telling people no today.
  2. No clue. But my point, even before his interviews, was that even if they interviewed, I still didn't believe he'd be the guy ultimately. His red marks are literally their biggest concerns in a coaching candidate. I, and the people at Cal I trust, didn't think they'd be able to overcome that. That, and their biggest booster is family friends with Joe Pasternack, the same family they're counting on paying for their new basketball facility.
  3. Still don't think Cal was ever as serious about him. Pasternack or someone totally out of the blue.
  4. Literally everyone I've talked to at Cal says NOT Muss. I won't believe it unless it actually happens.
  5. Huge risk, and not even because of him leaving. They're terrified of his recruiting, and ironically, the assistant that could shore up that concern is persona non grata in Berkeley.
  6. He's VERY new. Just about everyone is skeptical.
  7. One of the top recruiters on the west coast, and he's family friends with one of the wealthiest Bay Area families (Cal donors), plus the Cal coaching experience. I'd almost be shocked if he wasn't the hire.
  8. This is what I'm thinking. Being in the Bay makes a lot of sense for him.. But I'm not fully convinced Cal actually wants him.. for various reasons.
  9. Uhhhh is CSU also down two starters and did their coach already accept a job at Mizzou?
  10. So... Pasternack at Cal makes even more sense right? Coached at Cal for years, recruits CA, primary recruiter for Oakland Soldiers.
  11. I think he'll recruit well because he's a known commodity within the bball world. But he hasn't lived in CA since the mid 80s. I don't think his teen years in CA 3 decades ago will have much of an effect on his recruiting prowess.
  12. What a stupid article. These false equivalencies wouldn't pass a college logic paper.
  13. UW hires Syracuse assistant Mike Hopkins.
  14. According to the SF Chronicle, Cuonzo made 250k base in addition to a 1.65m talent fee for this season. 1.9 million is borderline top 25 in pay. I can't for the life of me understand how Mizzou could justify giving him top 10 pay. How much is Muss making? But my money is on Joe Pasternak. I just don't know if Muss wants to deal with the academic handicaps, or if Cal wants a guy who isn't familiar with that culture.
  15. If I were to guess, I don't think Cal or UW go after Muss. Maybe a call/interview, but not ultimately.
