I think whether their ready or not is irrelevant. If you're potential lottery or have a first round guarantee, you gotta go. Wood is a first rounder, so bye bye I wish him well. It's looking like Vaughn will have to finish on an incredible tear to be a sure fire first rounder. He's still super young, so I think it's most likely he stays. I hope so anyways...
I don't think that jones guy comes if Vaughn stays. I also don't think Patty Mac leaves the starting lineup. I'd bet if the Rebs finish fairly strong we get Zimmerman. Lots to be determined, but i love the potential of McCaw, Morgan and Goodluck returning at the very least, and the addition of Carter. Should Vaughn stay AND we get Zimm...watch yo asssezzz! The oven will be hot and the smell of interweb crow will be filling the MWC board.
You can still root for them...a few hundy ain't nothin for a hendo G! Moving? We can bump it up too. You get me 4 tickets and I'll get you 2 and a plane ticket. I'm going to win, so don't worry too much about getting here. But my tickets cannot be behind the basket. So we'll have to take a look at the seating chart when that arena is finished.
I've been on the west side of LV all my years here. Like they say, west side is the best side.
My evaluation is ongoing. It's definitely to the point where wins will determine the outcome. Most of the concerns and criticisms expressed concerning Rices program have validity. Still, my belief is they have not outweighed the positives. Simple take is, I'm betting on the coaching being good enough for us to see this amazing young crop (along with the next) grow and succeed; but I'm well aware there are probabilities that play out otherwise.Time will tell.
Oh, everyone? Well that's intimidating. Still though, it was all generally wrong, made up and/or exaggerated.
The initial point to the fans dominating the discussion here is... try not to dominate the discussion here. For better understanding of this, please refer to the many posts in this thread and the other by quickdraw and Baron. That is all on that.
The thing you are correct about? Do I believe Rice will bring the success we want? Well, after the gut punch that was January, it's obviously up in the air, but in the spirit of our great city and it's pretty good suburb lets do this: I'm gonna say there is enough talent and will be enough wins for Rice to coach here passed next year. You've made up your mind otherwise, and believe he does not have the ability and will be fired after this year or the next. Right? So, let's bet. A pair of tickets to the Duke game in '16. I'll watch Rice beat Duke, or you can watch your fancy new coach beat Duke.
Great job quickdraw. Haha but don't overlook or dismiss my contribution to your cause. And don't worry about me backing away. I'm coming in hard and sudden and will leave just as fast. I have not the time or lasting interest to flap my virtual gums here, or anywhere for any extended length of time. My hope is that , going forward, there's more of what posts like 2001 just offered and less of the...other stuff.
Your quote there is not my response to you. You asked for me to not use my accurate description while responding to you. I did not, out of respect; and I've altered the description. Another nice thing.
This is a digressive mountain out of a mole hill. Moving on....
If a UNLV fan would have posted on this board 5-7 years ago we should/will/could get top 5 recruiting classes and top ten players (elite level recruiting) the most common response from a mwc rival would probably be contain something like, "UNLV hasn't been elite since '91."
You see, rival opinions matter least on the subject as far as I'm concerned.
Good luck though, Wyoming. You guys got good fans that deserve some march madness fun.
Wow some passionate and lengthy responses. I'm going to need some afternoon expresso to read all of that...be back in a lil bit for that.
A first quick take is a big deal is being made about an extremely accurate descriptive word. Just truth. Disappointing digression, but expected. And this erroneous and unfounded assumption that I support a coach rather than simply the success of UNLV basketball. Again, dissapointing but expected.
