  1. Sounds like you need more BYU threads.
  2. Tons of updates this month. New updates highlighted in bold: 2017 09/01 - at Wisconsin 09/09 - Idaho State 09/16 - at Wake Forest 09/29 - BYU 2018 09/01 - at Michigan State - Pays $1.4 mill 10/05 - at BYU 2019 08/29 - at Wake Forest 09/07 - Stony Brook 10/05 - at LSU - Pays $1.5 mill 11/02 - BYU - Date moved for LSU game 2020 09/05 - Washington State 09/12 - Southern Utah 09/19 - at Washington - Pays $1.5 mill 10/02 - at BYU 2021 09/04 - at Washington State 09/11 - North Dakota Also FBSchedules says there was a H/H series with Troy scheduled in Logan on Sept. 5, 2020 and in Troy on Sept. 4, 2021 which has been pushed out to "later years" due to the Washington State series. I guess the 2018 home OOC games are the only question marks now in the near future. Overall these are decent additions.
  3. It's for your safety and others. Those boots would be too slick on the carpet.
  4. Go read again. I didn't say they lost because of injuries. I said nobody is surprised to see the season end the way it did because the injuries left the LP chuckers on the floor more than anyone wanted, they take bad shots, and don't play defense--not a good combination. To help you wrap your brain around it--BYU isn't that good of a team--in spite of beating Gonzaga. The Gonzaga game is a fluke rather than the standard for this team. UNLV went from the "prepare thy anus" chest-thumpers to sweeping the floors and turning the lights out after the games and it pains you I can see. You were piling on BYU at halftime--but I'm the classless one in this scenario. Right.... Yeah, that's what you do.
  5. Frog eye salad? Absolutely. Harmon's makes a good one in their deli. Fry sauce? Yep--my favorite is made with bbq sauce instead of ketchup. Pastrami burgers and scones, you bet. Still can't say I've had funeral potatoes lately--if it is served at some function I'd grab something else since it is never the only choice. The green jello with fruit in it? Haven't seen that in a really, really long time. It might be a hit with kids, but I don't cook for them much these days since mine are grown and gone--but we never really made it when they were home either. In fact, here is an interesting read on the jello-Utah connection and it's origins in a marketing campaign to try and boost lagging sales. http://www.slate.com/articles/life/food/2012/08/jell_o_and_mormonism_the_stereotype_s_surprising_origins_.html
  6. It's always funny to read the funeral potatoes and green jello comments--but I couldn't tell you the last time I've eaten either one of those.
  7. I'm betting that if Mo does make the team this fall, he very well could be a redshirt on the scout team. He not only needs to get into football shape, but has years of learning to make up. Langi was evaluated by Kaufusi in Tonga by watching him play pickup basketball. Bronco offered him a scholarship 15 minutes after meeting him. He has never played organized football. But now Bronco is gone and Kaufusi no longer coaches the defensive line--where Langi is expected to play because the techniques are simpler there than on the offensive side of the line. This was Bronco's quip to Fox13: http://fox13now.com/2015/02/04/byus-biggest-recruit-will-join-team-despite-never-having-played-football/
  8. Didn't all those guys graduate, declare for the NBA, or transfer AFTER Rice was gone? Rice was fired January 10, 2016--how long are UNLV fans going to blame him for their crappy season?
  9. What?!? Both are massive human beings. The funny part to me though is Mo was getting in trouble with the BYU coaches for GAINING weight on his mission. I still think he is a long shot to make the team in the fall but won't keep a scholarship if he isn't in condition since he has no background of playing organized football. Ziggy Ansah didn't either but he was an elite athlete and just learned the game. Mo doesn't quite fit that bill.
  10. Hey--if your boy Cocky is going to call me out by name, he's going to take crap for it. Your vigor to defend UNLV is admirable though. Carry on....
  11. Don't be a douche. Davis had a season ending knee injury on Nov. 26 and had been a starter until then. Grad transfer L.J. Rose had a meniscus tear in early February. Bryant had his knee injury right before the NIT. It left the team not very deep and they had to play the Lone Peak chuckers much more than any of us wanted. How are all those 5-star UNLV recruits working out for you? Let me know when your 5-star squad doesn't finish in last place in the MWC. It must really suck to suck at both football AND basketball, huh.
  12. The ripple effect from this game is that BYU @ Utah State previously scheduled for FRI, 10/4 would now be rescheduled. The openings on the BYU schedule for 2019 include Oct 26, Nov 2, and Nov 9. I'd personally love to see BYU use that General Conference weekend (of Sat, 10/5) for a bye since they open against Utah, @ Tennessee, USC, Washington, @ Toledo. Then after 10/5 they are @ Washington State and vs Boise State. A break right then in the schedule would surely be welcome.
  13. It's heart-warming to see that BYU isn't forgotten around here and still get threads dedicated to them by the MWC regulars. Anyone who has followed BYU's basketball season is not shocked to see it end this way after they lost 3 guys from their starting lineup to season-ending injury (Davis, Rose, and then Bryant) compounded by their penchant for bad shots on offense and almost non-existent defense. Dave Rose has taken heat from the fans late this season though I don't think the hot seat extends to the administration yet.
  14. http://www.fbschedules.com/2017/03/arkansas-colorado-state-2018-2019-power-five-games/ And Arkansas gets to count those games as meeting their P5 game requirement! It's a good look Rams!
  15. FBSchedules released their 11 toughest OOC schedules for 2017. http://www.fbschedules.com/2017/03/11-toughest-non-conference-schedules-college-football-2017/ 2. COLORADO STATE 2017 Non-Conference Opponents: (19) Colorado (at Denver, Col.), Abilene Christian, at (1) Alabama, Oregon State Colorado State’s non-MWC schedule earns strength points as in-state rival and annual opponent Colorado gains momentum. Add in a game at Alabama and a visit from Oregon State, and the Rams are staring down a potential 1-3 record in non-conference play. For the last several years, CSU has added a Power opponent to its regular meeting with the Buffaloes. In 2013, it was exactly the same set-up as this year – the opener in Denver vs. Colorado followed by a Week 4 trip to (1) Alabama. The big difference is the addition of a third regular-season Power foe, something that hasn’t happened since 2004. The Rams haven’t beaten a ranked team since knocking off (7) Colorado in 2002. 1. FRESNO STATE 2017 Non-Conference Opponents: Incarnate Word, at (1) Alabama, at (7) Washington, BYU In 2017, Fresno State is slated to clash with the reigning champions of the SEC and the Pac-12. It’s also got a date with a BYU team that went 9-4 last season – the highest mark among the four Independent schools. It’s the first time the Bulldogs have scheduled two Power opponents in the regular season since 2015. Their last win over a Power foe came in 2012, a 69-14 triumph over Colorado. They haven’t beaten a ranked team since edging (18) Virginia in the 2004 MPC Computers Bowl. They’ve never won a game vs. a Top Ten ranked opponent.
